# 6.7 Double Counting (PREFERRED) The provisions of the NCS chapter apply. Regarding 2: The general exclusion of DC, for example by confirmation from the competent authority of a country, must be available at verification. Regarding 3: In the context of the retirement of a corresponding amount of VER in the national accounting system, a letter from the competent authority is adequate to indicate the possibility of retirement. Verification whether this has occurred is done no later than the next verification.
